Scarce early edtion of Sumner's Treatise, in a complete 2-volume set. Bound for the library of George IV and featuring his Royal Cypher of the Regency Period in gilt at the spine head. Second, corrected edition from 1818. Fully bound in soft brown leather with five raised bands to spine; gilt lettering and gilt decorations to spine. Board edges and corners are rubbed, leather is split at lower front spine side of v.1. Minor shelfwear to front and rear boards generally and a watermark to the rear board of v.2. Endpapers have very light foxing. Internal contents are remarkably bright for age; text and pages are clean and unmarked throughout. More photos available upon request. Quite a special set. AD Used
