L'opera è ritenuta il testo-chiave della corrente filosofica e spirituale sistematizzata da Kardec sui fenomeni medianici. Al frontespizio è riportata la data 1875 mentre sulla brossura 1876. Difetti al dorso e alle ultime due carte, per il resto ottimo esemplare.

Molto interessante la prefazione del Richet, premio Nobel per la Medicina nel 1913, pioniere della parapsicologia. Myers utilizza in questo libro per la prima volta il termine Telepatia.
