A thumb Bible 45 × 31 × 27 mm vi 876 pages with 28 full-page illustrations; a tiny magnifying glass is loosely inserted in an endpocket. Full leather extensively decorated in blind with 'Coronation Bible 1911' lettered in blind on the spine; leather a little rubbed at the extremities; minimal signs of age and use; a very good copy. Issued in honour of the Coronation of King George V this is a reprint of the 1896 edition 'the earliest complete miniature Bible . These Bryce Bibles are embellished with 28 full-page line illustrations reduced from designs by Charles Bell Birch' Louis W. Bondy: 'Miniature Books' 1981. Miniature book: 2 1/8"w x 3 1/8"h. Many small prints of Ryden's Blood paintings featured in the artist's 2003 exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles at the Earl MacGrath Galleries. Gore and idealized children's big-eyed innocence/sexuality mixed together in disturbing juxtaposition with bees, bunnies, tears and meat. Exhibition list at back. Signed and dated on title page, comes with two tickets to 11/2004 exhibit at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle. Stamped #15222 on the last page. Limited Edition.

Il "Leggendario Sforza-Savoia" (Ms. Varia 124), è uno dei manoscritti più preziosi del Rinascimento italiano, gelosamente conservato nel caveau blindato della biblioteca torinese in compagnia dei codici e dei disegni di Leonardo da Vinci. Realizzato nel 1476 per il duca di Milano Galeazzo Maria Sforza e per la consorte Bona di Savoia, contiene una raccolta di storie «da leggere» (in latino legendae, da cui il nome Leggendario) tratte dal Nuovo Testamento e dai Vangeli Apocrifi. Sono raccontate in volgare le vicende di Gioacchino e Anna, di Maria, di Gesù e del Battista, con una parte conclusiva dedicata ai furori dell'Apocalisse. Le stupende miniature furono eseguite dal milanese Cristoforo de Predis, artista al servizio di importanti famiglie quali gli Este e i Borromeo.. .
