Gilt title to spine: "School Lists 1879-81." All page edges gilt. Inner gilt dentelles. Marbled endpapers. Previous owner's details to front free-endpaper: "J. H. Merryweather Charterhouse 1882." A collection of school and house lists for the Charterhouse a public school in Godalming Surrey. Originally founded by Thomas Sutton in 1611 on the site of the old Carthusian monastery in Charterhouse Square London the school is one of the original nine English public schools reported upon by the Clarendon Commission in 1864. Miniature in original pictorial celluloid stiff wrappers 2.5 x 1.5 inches wire-stitched 40 pages. With original printed promotional cover 2.5 x 4.25 inches. The publication date somewhat smudged in production but the inclusion of a 1904 calendar and the evident date code of 11-03 on the cover suggest a 1903 publication.
