Carboncino e matita misure: mm 165 x 225 Pittore italiano del quale si hanno poche notizie, fu attivo soprattutto nel Comasco a metà dell’Ottocento. Nel 1857 affrescò il battistero nella Basilica del SS. Crocifisso in Como; altre sue opere si trovano nel battistero di S. Fedele a Como e nelle chiese parrocchiali di Casasco, Pellio Superiore e Castiglione d’Intelvi. A Nesso nella Chiesa dei Santi Pietro e Paolo, nell’area presbiterale si trovano dipinti raffiguranti la Consegna delle chiavi a san Pietro, la Disputa di san Paolo nell’Areopago e la Trinità con gli Evangelisti realizzati nel 1864. In questo foglio, che reca la tracce di quadratura per definire le posizione reciproche delle figure, vengono rappresentati tre putti a figura intera. Sono colti stanti in pose ed atteggiamenti differenti; quello di sinistra di profilo ma con il busto e il volto rivolti verso lo spettatore, diversi ripensamenti dell'artista alla ricerca dell'esatta posizione del braccio destro forse pensato per tenere uno strumento. Il putto centrale è colto frontalmente, con la gamba sinistra avanti rispetto l'altra, fissa lo spettatore e sembra, con il gesto della mano sinistra protesa in avanti, lo stia invitando. Il putto a destra è di profilo, molti sono i ripensamenti di braccia e volto, sembra tenere tra le mani un flauto. Disegno eseguito su cartoncino ocra. Ottimo stato di conservazione.

Questa tunica avvolge completamente il soggetto e cade pesante sul suo corpo; il braccio sinistro piegato alla vita regge parte della veste lasciando così visibili le caviglie e i piedi nudi. Attraverso una fitta intersezione di linee si vengono a creare giochi chiaroscurali che rendono tangibile il tessuto. La figura nella sua maestosa ieraticità sembra una scultura di un filosofo o un magistrato romano. Disegno eseguito su carta bianca spessa. Ottimo stato di conservazione.
Book is in excellent condition with covers showing scuffing with a small mar on the front cover. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean, as-new and free of marking of any kind. Large format, unpaginated, about 275 pages with three short essays by Mr. Galella, Michael Musto and Anthony Haden Guest. The remainder of the book are full page plates with occasional collages in sepia depicting the garish, loud and tawdry excesses of the time wrapped in celebrity overkill of the likes of Steve Rubell, Calvin Klein, Halston, Liza Minnelli, Bianca Jagger, Grace Jones, and that guy with the blonde hair and glasses who's always taking pictures. Venues include Studio 54, Gynmnasium, the Met, The Roxy, Limelight, Plato's Retreat, Xenon, Trax, Cat Club. It's like asking for whipped cream and sprinkles on your tiramisu, though a very impressive compilation or work imortalizing the time. Ronald Edward Galella is an American photographer, known as a pioneer paparazzo. Dubbed "Paparazzo Extraordinaire" by Newsweek and "the Godfather of the U.S. paparazzi culture" by Time magazine and Vanity Fair, he is regarded by Harper's Bazaar as "the most controversial paparazzo of all time". Publisher's page is marked "First Edition 2006."

Acquaforte misure: mm 80 x 240 Incisore e disegnatore, si dedicò sporadicamente alla pittura. Il padre Francesco, scultore allievo di Giambologna, morì prematuramente ma riuscì ad avviare tutti i suoi figli a mestieri d’arte. Stefano fu il solo ad eccellere, ebbe i primi insegnamenti presso botteghe di dimenticati orefici i quali ebbero tuttavia il pregio di fargli prender dimestichezza con il bulino. Fu sostanzialmente un autodidatta. Le fonti bibliografiche affermano che egli si esercitava a disegnare figure curiosamente partendo dai piedi e a copiare le incisioni di Jacques Callot avendo come unico confronto l'incisore Remigio Cantagallina. Fu notato poi dal pittore Giovan Battista Vanni che lo prese nella sua bottega e gli diede i primi insegnamenti di pittura e del disegno. La vocazione di Della Bella fu sicuramente l'incisione e già le sue prime opere rivelano i temi a lui più cari: scene di vita contemporanea, feste, battaglie e le decorazioni. Lo studio delle incisioni e dei disegno di maestri antichi, la conoscenza e il confronto con i maestri fiorentini e fiamminghi a lui contemporanei allora presenti alla corte medicea furono furono di grande stimolo. Egli è considerato un grafico puro, grazie ai suoi numerosi viaggi tra Roma e Parigi e grazie alla protezione dei Medici maturò un proprio linguaggio grafico, in vita e per tutto il XVIII secolo fu ricercato e collezionato in Francia e in Italia. Questa è la tavola numero 15 della serie Ornamenti di fregi e fogliami, composta da sedici stampe. La tavola si divide in un fregio nelle parte superiore e due schizzi nel margine inferiore. Nel pannello superiore in un girale vegetale fanno capolino i corpi di due bambini; quello a sinistra sta decorando con ghirlande il corpo di un'aquila, mentre quello di destra la criniera di un leone. Nel zona inferiore, sempre con tratto fine ed elegante, vediamo a sinistra un tritone che brandendo un bastone cavalca un cervo marino e a destra il profilo della testa di un satiro. In basso, inciso nel margine inferiore, "Stef. della Bella inuent. et fecit", "N. Langlois excu", "Cum Priuil Regis" e numero. Impressione eccellente. Ottimo stato di conservazione. Acquatinta misure: 216 x 278 Antonio (Vaprio 1799 - Milano 1875), Giuseppe (Vaprio 1795 - Milano 1871) e Luigi (Vaprio 1801 - Milano 1860) furono disegnatori, incisori e calcografi molto attivi e conosciuti nella Milano del XIX secolo soprattutto per opere quali vedute e rilievi architettonici. Questa stampa riprende la tavola numero VIII facente parte della serie Descrizione dello studio di scultura del Prof. Pompeo Marchesi 1838, composta da dodici tavole disegnate dall'Architetto Antonio Rinaldi. Pompeo Marchesi (Saltrio 1783 - Milano 1858) fu un noto scultore allievo di Antonio Canova. Il suo studio in via S. Primo a Milano ospitava oltre a sculture monumentali anche modelli di gesso delle opere più celebri sia antiche che moderne. In questa incisione, attraverso giochi chiaroscurali, e grazie alla luce che entra da due archi finestrati sulla sinistra, assistiamo ad una elaborata scena animata. Uomini donne e militari commentano dipinti e sculture. Sulla destra possiamo riconoscere il ritratto di Goethe seduto che indossa una tunica, alle sue spalle un'allegoria della Fede forse di Canova, su mensole alle colonne le figure di Santi per il Duomo di Milano, su una lunga mensola in alto a destra i tanti busti realizzati da Marchesi e in fondo sopra l'arco di ingresso una copia del Mercurio di Giambologna oggi al Bargello. Carboncino, matita rossa misure: mm 130 x 284 Pittore e incisore italiano. Si formò presso l'Accademia Abertina di Torino seguendo per tre mesi i corsi di Romolo Umbertalli (Biella 1871 - Torino 1928), essenzialmente autodidatta, ha lavorato con il pittore Carlo Follini (Domodossola 1848 - Pegli 1938) a sua volta allievo di Antonio Fontanesi. Realizzò circa 152 acqueforti e si dedicò alla pittura da cavalletto e al disegno a carboncino. Nelle sue opere, comunque pervase da uno stile del tutto personale, ritroviamo un richiamo ad altri artisti quali Fontanesi e Segantini e per il solo primo periodo, a Fattori. Partecipò a diverse esposizioni a Torino, Venezia e Roma. Il disegno è probabilmente uno studio per un dipinto. Il soggetto infatti e delimitato da una marcata linea di contorno e occupa solamente una porzione del foglio, come se l'autore fosse già consapevole dei limiti della superficie su cui avrebbe lavorato. Vediamo rappresentato un silenzioso e solitario paesaggio di pianura, un frutteto. File di tronchi spogli si ergono da un terreno smosso e più lontano sembrano addirittura mutarsi in fragili fuscelli mossi dal vento. La visione d'insieme è sintetica e una fievole luce fredda, molto probabilmente di una mattinata invernale, genera ombre sul terreno. In basso a sinistra a matita "20-x-02". Al verso rapidi studi a matita di vacche e uomini. Ottimo stato di conservazione, leggero foxing. Carta spessa color avorio. China misure: mm 270 x 193 Scarse notizie gravitano attorno la figura di Luigi Pizzi, pittore, disegnatore, ma conosciuto principalmente per le sue belle incisioni di riproduzione da artisti quali Raffaello, Veronese e Domenichino, allora di grande moda. Nel 1791 si trova a Padova presso la Regia Accademia per seguire gli insegnamenti di Paolo Pozzo (Verona 1741 - Mantova 1803). Intorno al 1801 è a Verona per insegnare disegno e intaglio, incarichi che conserverà anche presso l'Università della città Padova dove si trasferisce definitivamente. In questo insolito foglio vengono raffigurati quattro busti di filosofi. L'intensità del segno è rapido e graffiante, costruisce lo spazio e la corporeità delle figure. Nulla è lasciato incompiuto: barba, capelli, rughe del volto, gli sguardi che si trasformano in parole, i gesti vivaci come quello del filosofo a sinistra di profilo o dell'uomo in primo piano che tra le mani custodisce un libro. La fitta intersezione di linee genera contrasti chiaroscurali in grado da far emergere le figure dallo sfondo. Il soggetto richiama i dettami del mondo classico ma lo stile è perfettamente coerente con l'arte del bulino di impronta neoclassica. In basso a sinistra a penna, in blu, numero 9 (?), mentre al verso scritta a penna e ripetuto a matita Disegno del Pizzi. Al verso in alto a sinistra, a penna numerazione 6159/10 Ottimo stato di conservazione.
Matita misure: mm 300 x 437 Pittore e scultore italiano. Sin da giovane, sotto la spinta dal padre Antonio, si dedica alla scultura e già nel 1827 si fa conoscere per un gruppo di quaranta busti giganteschi, oggi dispersi, a soggetto mitologico e rurale, per la Villa dei Conti Sabatini a Udine. Contemporaneamente collaborava con il padre dimostrando capacità nel cogliere i dettami dello stile neoclassico allora in voga. Precocemente si avvicina alla pittura; realizza pochi soggetti religiosi, si afferma nella pittura di genere, in quella storica e in quella satirica. Con piglio originale ed estroso attira l'attenzione sia di capi di Stato, nobili ma anche collezionisti italiani che vedevano il suo studio come un ritrovo mondano, un passaggio obbligato durante i soggiorni veneziani. Gli affibbiarono il soprannome di "Goldoni della pittura veneziana". Soddisfatto della posizione sociale ed economica conquistata, abbandonò il lavoro a quarant'anni per godersi la vita. Sue opere sono conservate nei musei di Trieste, Padova e Venezia. In questo disegno l'attenzione dello spettatore è catturata dal michelangiolesco corpo maschile di spalle. Il modello è seduto come su un argine di un torrente. La torsione del corpo, con le mani adagiate a terra come nell'atto di sollevarsi, mostra le braccia muscolose, la schiena in tensione e il volto rivolto a destra caratterizzato da una bocca socchiusa, naso alla greca, lo sguardo fisso verso un punto in lontananza e capelli mossi dal vento. La capigliatura è tipicamente neoclassica. Sembra di vedere uno studio per un dio fluviale, un allegoria. Evidente è la conoscenza della statuaria classica Il tratto è rapido, la linea di contorno è morbida su tutta la figura e l'intersezione fitta del tratteggio regala giochi chiaroscurali che mostrano l'attenzione per gli effetti della luce sul nudo atletico. In basso a destra, a matita, firma. Al verso veloci schizzi a matita. Disegno su carta vergellata color avorio. Buono stato di conservazione, leggero foxing e qualche piega. Mm 150x220 Due volumi rilegati in uno. Volume in robusta tela marrone coeva con titolo oro su etichetta applicata al dorso, 240 + 495 pagine. Leggere fioriture nel testo e una gora alle ultime carte del secondo tomo, peraltro il libro è in buone condizioni nelle sue legature ben salde, Spedizione in 24 ore dalla conferma dell'ordine.

Approfondito studio ed elogio della carta da stampa su carta forte priva di difetti, L'autore oltre a un elogio iniziale descrive minuziosamente vari tipi di carta da stampa e cerca di tracciare le origini: Quando e da chi inventata, forse è un segreto ,che Polidoro Virgilio ( De invenzione rerumlib. 2 cap. 8) confessa di non aver mai potuto rintracciare. Scaligero vuole che sia stata trovata dagli Alemanni. Maffei afferma per certo che l'invenzione è dovuta ali italiani, altri ai Greci altri ancora agli Arabi, conclude che l'invenzione si debba attribuire ai Chinesi," Qesta carta è bianca, morbida,ed eguale, senza la menoma asprezza, che fermi il moto del pennello" Altri ti pi carta vengono descritti: L'Europea ,la Pedemontana etcc. etcc.
