Heavily illustrated throughout with photographs of the circus in color and in black and white. With a maze for children and a fold-out "life-size" poster of Michu who according to this pamphlet was the smallest man living at the time the pamphlet states he is seven inches shorter than Tom Thumb was. The interior of each cover with a beautifully illustrated advertisement one for Datsun the other for pet food. A bright and colorful piece of circus ephemera capturing the bluster and larger-than-life personality of the American circus. "It was the first Ringlin show to be held under a tent since 1956 and also its first one-ring presentation in more than a century. with an intimate setting with seating for 1800 on cushioned seats and sofas and no one further than 50 feet from the circus ring. . 194571731N.P.: N.p. ca. 1945. Handmade photograph album bearing 10 original photographs. Eight are of circus wagons built by Jack Haines and two are photographs of Jack Haines; the first portraying him at the entrance to the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Show and the second shows him sitting near the large circus wagon used in the show of 1937. Jack Haines was a clown for the circus but apparently he was also involved in the construction of circus wagons. The remaining eight photographs taken by Haines to display his newest creations are all of circus wagons that Jack built in the early 1940s; Baggage Wagon Band Wagon and Stringer Wagon. All the photographs are 6 x 4 inches. Jack also constructed the actual album using two pieces of wood both with metal hinges and with deep linoleum letters and a linoleum sailboat affixed the front cover. The "N" in "SNAPS" is missing. Inscribed by Jack on the inner front cover - "Greetings from Jack Haines to Olivia Kline." N.p. unknown

Christiansen was a member of the Advisory Board for the Monthly; his wife Edna was the Northern Editor. A Dane from Denmark Mr. Christiansen retired in 1957 after a 53-year career on the sawdust circuit in three continents. Considered one of the premier horse trainers of recorded circus history. He invented a carousel act that hasn't yet been copied. It included 79 animals including zebras camels 39 horses and 29 ponies. He was noted for his kindness to the animals he trained Edna his second wife was also a Circus Hall of Fame member and her election in January 1969 marked the first time a married couple had been so honored. Mrs. Christiansen was an outstanding horsewoman and circus promoter during a 47-year career. This debut issue includes the Program for the 1961 Annual Circus Convention at Joplin Missouri. Also a facsimile of the Official Program for the Kelly & MIller Bros. Circus 25th Anniversary Tour. With the Opening Chapter of H. C. Ingraham's biography of Tom Mix apparently never completed. Self-proclaimed as "The Greatest Circus Publication On Earth ". Note: the Circus Historical Society reports that this is the only issue of Circus Monthly ever produced.! 1931A46472New York NY: Sells-Floto Circus. Good. 1931. Periodical. B&W Illustrations; This is a magazine sized periodical / souvenir program for the 1931 season. The Magazine is in Good only condition with illustrated covers and a stapled spine. The program was issued without a dust jacket. The spine ends corners and edges of the covers have wear rubbing creasing and wrinkling and the majority of the spine has tearing. The text pages are generally clean but do have tears and wrinkles and there are a couple of small bits clipped out. This program features several pages of black and white photos of the star of the show - Tom Mix. Later pages include photos of other acts including the clowns several animal acts and even a posed photo showing Jack Dempsey and Tom Mix after a bout "four fast rounds". "The circus had four elephant births three born to "Alice" and one to "Mama Mary". The sire of all four was "Snyder". None survived longer than five months. By 1929 the Sells Floto Circus was part of the American Circus Corporation which consisted of Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus the John Robinson Circus the Sparks Circus and the Al G. Barnes Circus.
