First Edition, large 4to, ix,36pp., number 44 of a limited edition of 200 copies, large paper copy printed on hand-made paper, 96 full-page plates printed on one side only of which several are heliogravure facsimiles each with protective tissue with short descriptive text, orig. full vellum, some lightly soiled, title stamped in gilt on upper cover, label to spine, uncut, a nice copy. An important work on Whistler's etchings with a 448 item list of his etchings reprinted from Kennedy's 1910 catalogue.

4to (283 x 230 mm), 12 etched plates goats, cattle and landscapes, a little browned and spotted, stitched as issued, orig. yellow paper wrappers, gold printed title label on upper cover. Nicolaes Pieterszoon Berchem (1620-1683) was a highly esteemed and prolific Dutch Golden Age painter of pastoral landscapes, populated with mythological or biblical figures, and Johann Heinrich Roos (1631-1685) a German Baroque era landscape painter and etcher. The only other copy located is that at the New York Public Library.

Visat, pressier. Tirage limité numéroté à 265 exemplaires, celui-ci n°220 sur vélin d'Arches. La reliure est frottée sur le haut du dos, sinon bon état pour ce titre peu courant.

Binding quite worn, but still attractive. Plates and text in excellent condition. Sir John Everett Millais (1829-1896) was a greatly celebrated English painter and illustrator, and one of the founders of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. ART4
