An extensive introduction 47 pp printed on fine laid paper followed by 22 plates including 20 ORIGINAL ETCHINGS BY ADOLPHE MARTIAL POTEMONT PRINTED AVANT-LA-LETTRE ON CHINE APPLIQUE. From a total edition of 180 numbered sets this is one of only 15 printed on Chinese paper. Potémont best known as "Martial" was one of the great etchers of Parisian scenery and these impressions on Chinese paper are particularly fine. Large folio. Loose as issued in worn and lightly stained original board portfolio. Support sheets of etchings somewhat foxed but etchings themselves mostly very clean.
