A dozen stories are about an old farm couple in the Pacific Northwest another dozen about an elderly woman "whose children have grown and moved away and whose husband is gone" and five about "Uncle Sylvester and his adventures in heaven." This copy though in dire need of rebinding spine gone covers off text block intact and solid is unique in that it bears a dedication bookplate stating as follows: to The Confederate Soldiers' Home Pikesville MD from John Brown Sons May 2 1908" written in contemporary ink. John Brown and Sons was a Hardware and Machinests' Supplies firm on Pratt Street in Baltimore and their letterhead makes up the bookplate. Possibly related directly to the Abolishonist thus a unique association piece. Certainly associated to the hardware store where the first man to die in the Civil Ware was removed to after he was shot but before he died and where he was given first aid by the store owner. The leaves of booklet step back with an index printed on the edges. It is similar to a thumb-indexed book but with the entire page edge acting as a navigation aid. The interior of the rear wrapper includes the statement "recipes and information compiled principally from the Professional bartenders guide with the permission of the author John T. Fitzgerald .". In addition to the recipes the booklet includes general information about spirits an illustrated guide to proper glassware and one page of snacks to accompany drinking. One small stain and a bit of rubbing to the silver-printed burgundy wrappers otherwise very good. OCLC locate three copies but not under Klein's name. H. Stiefol Co unknown books

FIRST EDITION of this descriptive bibliography of the first twenty years of the Antinomian Press. Printed letterpress by Patrick Reagh in an edition of 500 copies. The Antinomian Press was established by Ben Kinmont in 1996 to print and distribute books and ephemera in support of project art. To date there have been more than 150 items published. Whether printed in strangers' homes on the street in museums or during various collaborations with students each item is listed in terms of its format pagination and edition size as well as a brief explanation of its content and point of distribution. The publications described cover a range of subjects such as the work of the artist Lee Lozano 1930-1999; ethics in project art practices; the history of artists' street actions; and the fragility of the art discourse outside of institutional art spaces. On the preliminary pages Kinmont discusses 17th-century English antinomianism; the origin of the Press; and his selection of the engravings and ornaments that illustrate the bibliography all of which come from his personal collection of 17th-century English radical literature.
