The fanzine which eventually evolved into a professional format magazine was a very amatuerish effort at the start. The first two issues anyway were 11 x 14" x 8 1/2" page items printed on both sides included some hand typing many B&W photos some work that was actually written by hand and held together by a staple at the top. I am sure that a common copy machine was also used in the publishing process. Issue #1 April-May 1977 Issue #2 June -July1977. These copies initially sent to a fan in Baldwin NY Richard Hoffman. Not perfect examples but have aged well. Paperback

The folder shows 9 B&W photos obviously pre-1964 pre-Ringo Starr include two of Stuart Sutcliffe. Astrid is the legendary German photographer whose photographs of The Beatles are considered to be among the most remarkable ever taken of the world's most famous band. Riley became part of the Nuffield Organization in 1938 and was merged into the British Leyland Motor Corporation in 1968. In July 1969 British Leyland announced the immediate end of Riley production although 1969 was a difficult year for the UK automotive industry and many cars from Riley's inventory may have been first registered in 1970. This scarce fine book presents very well and has only very isolated foxing spots to the front endpapers. It opens clean fresh and tightly. The very good jacket is unclipped and has a slight amount of rubbing and loss to the spine extremities and a small portion of the top edge.<br /> <br /> Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories set mainly in a mountaineering context a pursuit in which he also excelled. He also wrote a series of non-fiction books on various mountaineering topics. Geoffrey Bles unknown
