A mountain-set murder mystery with a filmmaking angle. The plot involves a movie being shot against the background of Mont Blanc and features "Sir Abercrombie Lewker that well-known actor-manager and amateur detective." The was one of the author's seventeen Lewker adventures; most are set in mountainous regions reflecting the author's self-described lifelong recreation of mountaineering and rock-climbing. Part of Styles' hugely popular Midshipman Quinn series. This book is in very good condition with only the top edge a little dusty and a little discolouration to the front hinge. There is an ex libris sticker to the publisher's page. The impressive jacket is fine with only a slight mark to the rear. Showell Styles was a highly prolific author of children's adventure stories set mainly in a mountaineering context a pursuit in which he also excelled. He also wrote a series of non-fiction books on various mountaineering topics. Faber unknown
