Ettore Roesler Franz, (1845 - 1907) was an Italian painter and watercolorist. His most famous works are the series of acquarelles he produced in Rome between 1876 and 1895, they are referred to as 'Roma sparita'. They are all in the collection of the Museo di Roma in Trastevere, where the exhibition was held in 2007. This monograph is the most comprehensive work on this artist to date. Friedrich Vordemberge-Gildewart (1899- 1962) was a German Neo-plasticist painter. He was a member of De Stijl. He was also a member of a number of other artistic groups including: the Cercle et Carré, 1930, in Paris and was a founding member of Abstraction-Création started 1931, also in Paris. In 1954 he was appointed to the faculty of the Hochschule fur Gestaltung in Ulm by Max Bill. This retrospective of his work was shown at IVAM Centre Julio Gonzalez and then Museum Wiesbaden.
