First edition of this fairly uncommon travel guide book to the Pan-American Exposition featuring both the large folding maps. Included are descriptions of the range of acts and attractions featured at the Exposition which included Bostock’s Trained Wild Animals Akoun’s Beautiful Orient Venice in America with Italian Gondoliers Roltair’s House Upside Down or “Palace of Illusions†the “War Dance of Cape Lopez Blacks†the Philippine Village the Hawaiian Village which featured a representation of the Kilauea Volcano ever erupting and the Battle of Missionary Ridge Cyclorama. Augmenting the City of Buffalo map is a directory to all of the streets and cross streets and hotels restaurants and other services also receive mention. Sadly the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo New York is best remembered today as the site of President McKinley’s assassination Sept. 6 1901. This guide book was released with issues containing just one plan to the exposition as well as this version which featured the City of Buffalo map as well.
