Colour-illustrated softcovers wraparound cover art of stylish Progressive Era woman w/ Tower of Jewels in background and the exhibit of the Great White Frost Refrigerators on back cover NF. First edition of this very rare catalogue and giveaway sales brochure for the White Frost Refrigerator Co. exhibit at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. In 1915 most refrigerators if the home had one were large wooden cabinets fitted with a space for ice but the White Frost Refrigerator created a 47 inch tall 27 inch in diameter product with a curved enamel steel case wire rotating shelves able to hold up to 100 pounds of ice for cooling and also cool an exterior water cooler tank. Hugh Smith was the president of the company of this White Frost’s which were first patented in 1906 and were very popular at their PPIE debut. No copies in Worldcat. Details several other photomechanical processes and their inventors. Illustrations include those by Robert Demachy and by Puyo. <br /> <br /> There are several issues of this report three of which vary only in size; a fourth a later issue has a slightly different wording to the title and is dated 1903. This catalog was prepared by the Comite d'Installation for the Exposition International in Paris in 1900. This section contained books musical works bindings newspapers and posters. This was the time of the famous "Kitchen Debate" between Khruschev and Nixon ; the previous owner has written "July 1959" on the title page. Nixon's itinerary for that month included his arrival on July 23 his visit to the Chaikovsky St. Market on July 24th followed by Nixon' s tour or Russia which began on July 27th; on this trip Robert Webster of the Rand Corporation suddenly chose to defect to the Soviet Union on July 11 and Lee Harvey Oswald attempts to contact members of the Exhibition while in Russia ; with a few notes by the owner of the book detailing events on the trip particularly to the State Department Store during the first week of July; a very interesting memento of a significant moment at the depth of the Cold War ; one image has been removed and trimmed but laid back in ; FAIR <br/> <br/> [Moskva] : Moskovskii Rbochii, 1957. hardcover
