The letter has a large signature 'Henry Betty.' with florid underlining. It begins: 'Madam My Father I am happy to say has recovered from his severe and protracted illness and we feel anxious to visit the Lyceum Theatre upon Saturday next the 18th - therefore might I intrude upon you for the favour of an Order for that Evening' He concludes 'With a grateful recollection of your kindness and joined by my Father in most sincere wishes for the success of your arduous undertaking.'
