Biagio Marin è stato un grande poeta, uno dei maggiori del Novecento italiano, certo uno dei maggiori poeti in dialetto del Novecento italiano e per la sua opera poetica, raccolta nei tre volumi de I Canti de l'Isola è stato e verrà ricordato e studiato. La sua produzione artistica non si esaurisce però nelle tremila e più liriche raccolte nei Canti, ma si estende e si diversifica in una consistente quantità di materiale scritto non in forma di poesia: articoli, saggi critici, pagine di memoria e di narrativa, ricostruzioni autobiografiche, fogli riservati alla lettura in interventi pubblici, convegni o trasmissioni radiofoniche, diari, corrispondenze. Su questo materiale, vasto ed in larga parte ancora inedito, sono centrati i contributi di questo volume. Gli articoli qui raccolti propongono o ripropongono alcuni momenti significativi del mio percorso critico all'interno della ricostruzione della complessa e ricca personalità intellettuale di Biagio Marin, della sua "identità di frontiera" continuamente attraversata da suggestioni culturali, politiche e civili.
