Two volumes containing a total of 365 beautifully hand-colored plates depicting the historic dress of villagers from various countries. Minor foxing to numerous plates occasionally entering into the image but mostly confined to the margins. Plates measure 103/8 inches 264mm in height. Bound in hardcover library cloth with unobtrusive stamps to top and bottom edge of closed pages with bookplates and stamps confined to the endpapers with no markings on the plates. Plates are titled at the top in French assigned a number and are given a brief description below the image. Many of the plates are credited at the bottom as "Musee Cosmopolite" while others are credited as "Musee de Costumes." Each is identified as having been printed by Aubert. Many of the artists are identified by their signature in the plate. There is no text associated with this publication.
