Esemplare all'interno in ottime condizioni di conservazione. Prima ed unica rara edizione di questa biografia scritta dal letterato vicentino Michelangelo Zorzi, dedicata al celebre giurista, letterato, Socio dell'Accademia degli Incogniti, fra i più importanti personaggi di Rovigo del suo tempo, il Conte Camillo Silvestri (Padova 14 giugno 1645 – Rovigo 6 gennaio 1719) che fu anche uno dei più grandi esperti d'antiquariato del suo tempo. Silvestri si laureò a Padova in diritto civile e canonico il 6 marzo 1663. Il 15 dicembre 1672 fu inserito all'interno del Magnifico Consiglio rodigino e venne eletto regolatore per diversi anni di seguito. Ma le sue cariche pubbliche furono innumerevoli: presidente del consorzio di Campagna Vecchia, Sovrintendente a molti luoghi pii, Provveditore alle Vettovaglie; Revisore dell’estimo del territorio di Rovigo e Ambasciatore presso il doge e il Senato veneto. Fu proprio la Repubblica di Venezia a concedere a lui ed ai suoi discendenti il titolo di Conte e l'esenzione dai tributi feudali (questo anche per onorare due dei suoi figli morti in una battaglia navale contro i turchi nell'Egeo). Nel campo della cultura, importantissimo fu il suo contributo alla formazione e Museum Silvestrianum Rhodiginummiglioramento della collezione antiquaria del Museo di Rovigo dove confluì il suo celebre “Museum Silvestrianum Rhodiginum”. With a 4pp catalogue of Macmillan's 'Uniform Edition' of the author's novels and tales (this was her sole excursus into topographical history) at end, and the blind trade stamp of W.H. Smith, Strand, on rear free endpaper. This fine local history, first published in the preceding year, draws on Marsh's 'Memoranda of the Parishes of Hursley and North Baddesley' (1808) and Duthy's 'Sketches of Hampshire' (1839) to provide an account of its localities more detailed than either of its forbears.
