The signatures include Monte Montague 1889 - 1959 a seasoned Western actor who appeared in more than 100 films signing a contract agreeing to appear in the film "The Shadow Of The Eagle" January 26 1932 to play the part of Calhoun at the rate of $75.00 per week. Also included is John Trent 1906 - 1966 a commercial pilot turned actor. He really flew planes in the pictures he was in but was never comfortable acting. This contract arranges for Trent to appear in the film "The Whispering Shadow" December 4 1932 at the rate of $75.00 per week. Mascot finally figured out he couldn't act so they cancelled the film! Both items are in very good condition.<br/> <br/> American film company of the 1920s and 1930s best remembered for producing and distributing film serials with "cliff hangers" and B-westerns. A collection of anti-union editorials from newspapers nationwide collected by the Chrysler Corporation with two editorial cartoons. Headlines read "Slow Down Strike is Plain Sabotage" "Unions Run Rampant" "Dubious Slowdown" and that sort of thing. Not "Fair and balanced" but a genuinely scarce curiosity from the height of the CIO and the era of organized labor. OCLC locates five copies in worldwide library holdings. 19589134Chicago: Container Corporation of America 1958. First edition. 14.5x11.5" portfolio containing a complete set of 26 prints on various sized glossy sheets. Generally very good with toning corner wear pin holes occasional corner chips few stains. Portfolio shows some scuffing and wear. These images remain bright but were displayed at the Bellevue Art Museum for quite some time. Also included are 6 additional prints from the same series but from a different portfolio. <br /> <br /> Set of 32 beautiful prints including the complete '56-58 portfolio. from CCA's groundbreaking advertising campaign which ran from 1950-1975 and married the words of great thinkers with visuals of artists and designers. It has been called "the best corporate advertising ever to appear in print" and was innovative in that it didn't advertise a specific product but rather a company ethos and approach to business. The ads ran in magazines such as Time and Fortune and featured quotes from Einstein Milton Roosevelt Disraeli Santayana Lincoln Shakespeare and others. Artists included Charles Pickford Will Burtin Mary Falconer Robert Andrew Parker Richard Lindner Milton Glaser Carol Summers Ed Kysar and others. First edition of this beautifully illustrated dealer catalogue promoting the groundbreaking Airflow style Chrysler models for 1934 including 4-door sedan 2-door Touring Sedan and designed by Carl Breer. 21" x 27 1/4" color one sheet dealer poster with color promotional details on each side. Folds down to 5 3/4" x 10 1/2" size.The Airflow models also featured the innovative modern streamline styling with a waterfall grille semi-flush headlights the rear wheels encased in fender skirts and a Vee raked windshield but it was just too radical a departure for the consumers at the time. To further support their design Chrysler promoted a new era of transportation identifying the car with streamlined passenger trains and ultramodern transportation and architecture designs like the Graf Zeppelin and the Chrysler Building in New York City. At the depths of the Great Depression the car was too advanced and different for consumers so in the subsequent years it was substantially redesigned. No copies located in Worldcat. Very good copy.
