Printed/decorated wraps stapled 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches 24 pp. order form illustrations. Very good focal mild foxing; some sunning to covers. A fascinating look at the doctrine that "uterine obstruction" and "inadequate uterine drainage" cause dysmenorrhea sterility pelvic inflamation and "loss of tone". The "Uterector" is a screw-like intrauterine device ".a flexible coiled splint designed to conform with the desirable contour of the uterine tract.". "'The Uterector method' --- the use of the Uterector to maintain patency and free uterine drainage--- was first introduced to the medical profession in 1932 after extensive clinical research. Its record has been amazing. It is used today by thousands of physicians and gynecologists in private offices and hospitals from coast to coast. It has shown unqualified success in over 90% of all indicated cases. It is the method par excellence for maintaining established patency and free uterine drainage. In cases reporting non-success it has been found that the physicians' technique was inadequate. When the proper technique is used this method should result successfully in all cases where indicated. 'The Uterector method' is recommended in cases of stenosis dysmenorrhea uterine flexions sterility pelvic inflammations salpingitis oophoritis cellulitis peritonitis in indicated cases for spaced motherhood and as a post-operative splint. The single function of the Uterector is to establish patency and maintain free uterine drainage. .Some authorities state that approximately seventy-five per cent 75% of all women do not have adequate uterine drainage and as a result suffer from uterine disorders which if not corrected may lead to serious consequences in later years. In this section are listed the more common types of obstructions with which every physician has to deal. In the section immediately following will be given the conditions resulting from such obstructions." This promotional literature claims that the Uterector does not cause inflammation: "A properly fitted Uterector in cases of the types described in this booklet will not irritate any more than a properly fitted denture or any other properly designed appliance for the human body." A list of "contra-indications" on page 20 and "Advantages of the Bley Uterector" on page 21. "How to Order" the "Senior Set" illustrated the "Junior Set" illustrated or single Uterectors. The Senior Set contains 8 sizes and the "special introducer". The Junior Set contains 4 sizes and the "special introducer". "Not sold through supply houses / The Uterectors can be obtained only directly from us or through our own detail men." "'The Uterector method' of relieving dysmenorrhea sterility pelvic inflammations and other disorders presented in the pages of this booklet and fully illustrated in our 'Manual of Technique' has had a truly remarkable record. The list of users today from coast to coast is steadily and rapidly increasing. The method as some physicians have said to us is a boon to patients and decidedly advantageous to the doctor himself. From our investigations charges generally run from $15.00 to $50.00. That however is a matter for the individual physician to determine."
