These historically-important contracts were issued in 1932 by Mascot films at the height of their success releasing cliff-hanger shorts to the movie industry. The signatures include Monte Montague 1889 - 1959 a seasoned Western actor who appeared in more than 100 films signing a contract agreeing to appear in the film "The Shadow Of The Eagle" January 26 1932 to play the part of Calhoun at the rate of $75.00 per week. Also included is John Trent 1906 - 1966 a commercial pilot turned actor. He really flew planes in the pictures he was in but was never comfortable acting. This contract arranges for Trent to appear in the film "The Whispering Shadow" December 4 1932 at the rate of $75.00 per week. Mascot finally figured out he couldn't act so they cancelled the film! Both items are in very good condition.<br/> <br/> American film company of the 1920s and 1930s best remembered for producing and distributing film serials with "cliff hangers" and B-westerns.
