The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries ISRI Washington has recognized Dr. Herschel Cutler the organization's first executive director with the 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Cutler received the award for his commitment to his family his community and his many friends and colleagues in the recycling industry ISRI says. Before entering the recycling industry Cutler received a Ph.D. from Syracuse University. He spent two years in the Army before becoming a full-time faculty member at The American University and starting a private consulting practice. His first client was the Institute of Scrap Iron and Steel. In 1971 Cutler was selected as the organization's new executive director. He began to address the industry's biggest challenges of the 1970s including discriminatory railroad freight rates burdening ferrous scrap. He also led a fight with parts of the steel industry over ferrous scrap export controls. His efforts on the Hill and in a series of field hearings around the country helped pass legislation and develop regulations that have protected the industry from export controls ever since. In 1987 the Institute of Scrap Iron and Steel and the National Association of Recycling Industries agreed to merge and to form ISRI. Cutler was designated as the executive director of the newly formed organization. Throughout the 1990s Cutler fought for the Superfund Recycling Equity Act SREA which provides relief to recyclers from the Superfund legislation passed in 1980 that threatened the industry. Under his direction the recycling industry was able to declare victory in 1999. Distribution Economics Educators, Inc hardcover

2020BIBHB0210197142020. Hardcover. New. About the Book- This book has been compiled with the aim of highlighting the story of Samuel Fisk Green through the letters which he received from different persons within the span of his missionary life. Through the eyes of author Green was a medical missionary. He joined the American Mission in New York and along with a team of missionaries was sent to Sri Lanka in 1847. The first and second generations of the Greens of Green Hill had passed through the latter stage of the Colonial period with its institutions framed and guided by the mother country and the third had entered upon that epoch of conflicting opinions which culminated in the Revolution. The life of a family so remote from the village and from neighbors would seem to have been inevitably rather monotonous. The seclusion of their early home certainly did not prevent their early attainment to positions of great responsibility and usefulness. Though the book is a rare it may be recognized even by those who dissent from the authors views. The Title 'Life And Letters Of Samuel Fisk Green M. D. Of Green Hill written/authored/edited by Samuel Fisk Green Ebenezer Cutler' published in the year 2020. The ISBN 9789353244972 is assigned to the Hardcover version of this title. This book has total of pp. 466 Pages. The publisher of this title is Facsimile Publisher. This Book is in English. The subject of this book is History.
