Morgan"" - a sepia toned photograph coming towards the viewer on the front and heading away on the rear. Spine has sharp white titling. Covers corners and overall condition of the book is Near Fine tight square and with no markings inside or out. Endpapers are reproductions of the logbook of the ""Royal William"" dated 1834. Book states First Edition on copyright page. Unclipped Dust Jacket shows original price of $3.75 on front flap. Pictorial on front matches cover of book rear has advertisements for other books of the sea. Dust Jacket has some scuffing and shelfwear and more - see photos. W.W. Norton hardcover

A small quarto of 10 by 7 1/2 inches with rubbing to the cloth at the head and heel of the spine and light soiling to the boards. Without its issued dust jacket. This title provides one of the most extensive photographic records of the whaling industry. 179 pages containing text line drawings and with over detailed 200 photographs as well as the plans and specifications for a whaleship.
