Edward Hilton Young 1st Baron Kennet 1879 1960 was a British politician and writer serving in the Royal Navy during the First World War. In 1922 he married Kathleen Scott widow of famous explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott and became stepfather to Kathleen's son the naturalist Peter Scott. Lord Kennet wrote about the birds of the Kennet valley. The dust jacket states 'His step-son Peter Scott has already won fame by his wildfowling pictures. He shows himself here as acute an observer of the humbler birds of our hedgerows and fields'. Country Life hardcover

Dean Young writes to Ms. Carol Kyne of the "Community Players Celebrity Auction" enclosing the "original daily strip of January 5 1970." Not here present which she may use "as you see fit in your up and coming celebrity auction." He closes by wishing her "tremendous success". Signed "Dean Young". Folded for mailing the letter was once mounted with remnants of brown paper adhering to the top and bottom edges of the verso. Very good. <p>The American cartoonist Dean Young born 1938 inherited the popular comic strip "Blondie" from his father Chic Young. While he will sometimes draw the "roughs" Dean is head "gag" writer for the strip on which he has collaborated with several artists including Jim Raymond Mike Gersher Stan Drake Denis Lebrun and John Marshall.
