198812989New York: Warner 1988. First Edition. Hardcover. Near fine/near fine. Octavo 275pp. illustrated. A crisp clean copy near fine with gentle taps to corners. In a near fine dust jacket with some mild rippling to the lamination. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Blanc on the front free endpaper in the year of publication: "I enjoyed the interview. My best wishes to Sarah. Love from Mel Blanc 12/9/'88." A laid-in note from the previous owner reads: "Sarah the previous owner is Sarah Purcell. She was Regis Philbin's co-host on their morning show. She must have interviewed Mel Blanc on another show." We have no further information about this but it sounds plausible. In any event a scarce signed copy of Mel Blanc's autobiography; he died a year after publication. Warner hardcover

Schnitzer and signed by Bochner on false title. Quarto. Hardcover. Black paper boards with metallic titles in acetate jacket with red and white titles. 258 pages : illustrations chiefly colour photographs ; 32 cm. For more than 50 years American conceptualist Mel Bochner born 1940 has been shaping dialogs between art and language through exhibition concepts paintings and sculptures that embrace systems and structures to reveal their cracks and limitations undermining the means we use to comprehend the world. Bochner created his first prints in 1973 at the invitation of publisher Robert Feldman of Parasol Press who introduced a generation of minimalist and conceptual artists to printmaking through his work at Crown Point Press. Since then Bochner has employed many different forms of printmaking using and abusing its material possibilities and its unpredictability to counter the methodical fashion in which plates and stencils are cut characters per line are fixed or print runs set. This volume surveys Bochner's longstanding engagement with various types of printmaking from aquatints to monoprints. Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation / Philbrook Museum of Art hardcover
