Sul modello del Folengo, che cita, ed il solo che possa stargli alla pari, l'A. compone carmi "De Malitiis Putanarum"; "De arte Robandi"; "De Laudibus Bosiae"; "De boni vini effectibus"; ecc. (cm 30,5), Graffato, pagg.35 cop. moderna in carta Varese, alcune cancellature a matita nel testo a stampa, ampie annotazioni al margine e su tutta l'ultima pagina bianca verosimilmente scritte dagli stessi autori del testo, fioriture, due forellini al margine bianco inferiore delle prime quattro carte, piccola mancanza al margine bianco laterale della prima pag, ma buon es. Causa tra Cesare Salvietti, negoziante di vino in San Giovanni Valdarno, e i sigg. Macchiati Lamberto e Bartocci Francesco di Camerino relativa al pagamento di dieci botti di vino.

Small 4to, iv, 200pp., tinted lithograph frontispiece of Thirlestane House (lightly foxed), orig. blind stamped cloth, title in gilt on upper cover and spine, a very nice copy. "Lord Northwick died intestate, being succeeded by his nephew, and the whole collection was sold by auction... A considerable number of the paintings were bought in by the 3rd Lord Northwick and taken to Northwick Park. They passed in 1929 with the rest of the estate to Edward Spencer-Churchill, on whose death in 1964, they were disposed of, by private sale and at auction, a large number of the pictures and antiquities being transferred to the national collections in lieu of death duties. Phillips also bought heavily, acquiring ultimately no less than ninety-five pictures. The facetious tone in which he announced this to his wife can have done little to allay her disquiet. 'My dear Wyfy', he wrote on 16 August 1859. 'Poor Tippy ruined at the Northwick sale!!! What a pity his careful prudent Wyfy was not with him. Could not help it! Such beautiful Pictys!
