Zwar gibt es viele Autorinnen, die über Whisky geschrieben haben und das auch weiterhin regelmäßig in Zeitungen und Zeitschriften tun. Soweit ich weiß, ist dieses Buch jedoch die erste eingehendere Abhandlung von einer Frau und als solche seit langem überfällig. Sie haben hier einen informativen Begleiter und ein erstklassiges Handbuch, das Sie zu Rate ziehen sollten, wenn Sie Ihren Lieblingswhisky kosten oder eine neue Marke ausprobieren. In punkto Geschmack sind Sie vielleicht nicht immer einer Meinung mit Helen Arthurs Einschätzungen und Kommentaren; zuweilen haben selbst wir beide freundschaftliche Meinungsverschiedenheiten, die wir dann bei einer weiteren Prüfung beizulegen suchen. Aber solche Meinungsverschiedenheiten mögen ruhig noch lange bestehen - es wäre ein trauriger Tag, an dem wir im Hinblick auf Geschmack uns alle einig sind. Die kleinen Unterschiede gehören nun einmal zu den Kostbarkeiten des großartigsten Getränks der Welt.
