Joint une sérigraphie A4 en couleurs du portrait en buste de 3/4 d'A. Bruant et une couverture (A4) du livre "Aristide Bruant" (portrait de dos d'A. Bruant par Toulouse-Lautrec) Gérard Bauër (1888-1967) serait le second propriétaire de l’ouvrage. Journaliste à l’Aurore, au Figaro, romancier, il est membre de l’Académie Goncourt à partir de 1948. Théodore Duret (1838-1927), journaliste, écrivain, critique d'art et grand collectionneur, et ami des impressionnistes.

Bonfils was one of the most versatile illustrators of his time, and in this book he evokes the frivolity of bourgeois Parisian life by adopting the style of the "Nabis": Toulouse-Lautrec, Bonnard, and most especially Vuillard. One of 260 copies beautifully printed on fine Marias wove paper. From the collection of Luis de Caralt, the Barcelona publisher who was Spain's greatest collector of modern illustrated books (his bookplate). 4to. This is a very good softcover copy with a very good dust wrapper with light wear. A little wear to one corner of the lower spine, and the upper corners. Completely clean inside, a bit of light soil outside on the dust wrapper. Andre Sauret supervised the production of the 32 color plates printed by Mourlot in France which are lithographs and are fine. 13" high X 10" wide. Plate list with complete details of the printing. Interesting section at the end titled 'Analysis of the Colours used in Toulouse-Lautrec's First Poster', showing the different states of the printing of the poster.
