Hb in dw close to a near fine copy of this important Ravilious title; minute bump to upper corner of front cover no inscriptions slight mark on white surrounds of plate 5 slight mark on extreme lower edge of pages containing plate 9 10 and 11; the unclipped dw has slight blemish approximately ¼" diameter on rear close to fold-over a couple of minor marks on the lower front and a degree of general slight discolouration on the rear; upper edge of dw is very lightly distressed for perhaps 1mm at just the top of the spine also a tiny loss at the upper right-hand corner perhaps 3mm x 6 mm would encompass this. All in all a very nice copy of this scarce title. Scolar Press Hardcover

Uncommon a cheaper soft cover version was published at the same time hardback catalogue published by the Tate Gallery for a major exhibition of Constable's work staged 18 Feb to 25 Apr 1976 to celebrate the bicentenary of Constable's birth. Clean square VG book in like unclipped wrapper a little wear to extremities minor surface marks and indentations. Exhibition flyer fine - I doubt whether many of these have survived - loosely inserted. Inscribed to reverse of FFEP "I hope it gives you / as much pleasure as it / has given me all these years. / John Constable / great-great-grandson!" Born in 1928 John C P Constable was a post-war and contemporary artist who died in 2002. Very nice association copy. Photographs/scans available upon request. Tate Gallery hardcover

Very Good with slightly cocked spine bumped corners in a price-clipped dust jacket with a small tear at head tiny chip at foot. An unusual explanation of the 1950s "flying saucer" wave with one foot firmly planted in the New Age movement from which so many early figures in the UFO contactee movement came. While the author a New Zealand native postulates that UFOs are in fact biological entities-- so-called macrobacteria invisible floating "critters" in the sky-- in this his first work he also employs occult techniques like channeling and clairvoyance. The author includes blurry photos of the entities that he took as well as some classic photos from famous UFO contactee and fellow occult devotee George Adamski.
