By 1977 The Nuns had created a worldwide buzz and a year later opened for the Sex Pistols at San Francisco's Winterland. The band split up in 1979 though there have been several later reunions. From the promotional material: "The Nuns are part of the new wave of punk rock phenomenon that is taking the country by storm. Parents have wondered for years what new leap into degeneracy their children would take and now the answer is here: Punk Rock!
