Vittoria wrote the material probably in Spanish while still living in Valencia. In the preface he apologizes for his Italian which "lacks purity." The significance of the book according to the art historian Anthony Blunt lies in the author's descriptions of several drawings by Raphael and his contemporaries which are either lost or known only in engraved copies. Condition noted. Gaetano Zenobi unknown
