This attractively bound complete set includes Sabatini's famous historical adventures Captain Blood 1922 Scaramouche 1921 and The Sea Hawk 1915. The pleasing illustrations are by Charles Edmund Brock 1870-1938 who is particularly well-regarded for his illustrated editions of period books. Sabatini 1875-1950 reached a worldwide audience via both his swashbuckling novels and their early film adaptations. His "greatest gift was the ability to bring the past to life in vivid and convincing colours and to enthuse millions of readers with his own love of history" ODNB. 34 vols octavo.
