Hardcover in full period calf leather boards. 8vo. 54 754 pages with fine engraved title after Jan Luyken. First published in 1709 this is an unknown but early edition with the Jan Luyken title-page used for the first edition. A total of 18 editions were published between 1709-1902 but few copies exist of each; thus a rare title regardless of edition. Little is known of Van Leeuwarden 1648-1730 but he is thought to have been an artisan although included within are prayers for the whalers and herring fishers. Leather binding with blind-stamped lettered spine with 5 raised bands in sound condition lacking ffep otherwise in good overall condition; no owner markings NOT EX-LIBRARY. froc hardcover
