1841AMO-3092En vente au Bureau du Journal Amusant et du Petit Journal pour rire, Paris, s.d. (vers 1841) Chez Bauger, imprimerie d'Aubert, s.d. [1840-1841] 1 volume in-4 (33,5 x 26 cm), broché de 25 planches. Il n'y a pas de page de titre (ce qui est normal pour ce type d'album factice composé à l'époque. Couverture de papier gris avec premier plat imprimé "Album Comique par Gavarni" (avec adresse). Quelques planches avec rousseurs au verso seulement. Papier bien blanc (2 planches sur papier plus teinté). Ensemble frais. Couverture en bel état malgré quelques petites déchirures en marge sans conséquence. Grattage ancien (au moment de la mise en album sous couverture) pour masquer le numéro de la série. Les Fourberies de femmes en matière de sentiment a été publié peu après 1840 et les mois suivants en 2 séries (52 planches au total). Les séries lithographiques de Gavarni (Les Enfants terribles, Fourberies de femmes, etc) et ses dessins en font un observateur moqueur, parfois amer, de la société parisienne sous Louis-Philippe et le Second Empire. Il rejoint en cela les Goncourt, qui l'admiraient, et avec lesquels il était très lié. Il faut voir dans l'oeuvre dessinée (lithographiée) de Gavarni, le pendant de la Comédie hunaine de Balzac. Ces Fourberies de femmes nous donnent l'image saisissante de vérité de la grisette, la courtisane, la bourgeoise, la mariée, aussi et surtout l'enfer des hommes dupés, de ceux qui se battent pour emporter leur amour et leur vertu. Très bon exemplaire de cette suite de 25 lithographies.
1853AMO-2845Paul Gavarni (1804-1866), gouache originale sur papier brun. 25,5 x 21 cm. La réussite. Signé en bas à droite. Légendé à la mine de plomb par l'artiste : "Toujours cet as de pique, jamais de trèfle, cela commence à devenir inquiétant !". Sans date (1852/1853). Ce dessin a été publié avec variantes (décor plus abouti) dans le Charivari du samedi 28 mai 1853 (petite variante dans la légende définitive également). Encadrement baguette dorée, marie-louis en relief, moderne (XXe. s.). La lithographie en noir montrée dans l'annonce n'est pas vendue avec (présentée uniquement à titre informatif). Très beau dessin original signé. Très bon état.
