Deux écoliers discutent de leurs jours de congé ! Image sur carton rigide. 23 cm x 32 cm. Le carton mesure 31 cm x 38,5 cm. L'image elle-même est propre, mais la zone environnante présente des salissures et quelques pertes de surface dues au fait qu'elle a été collée sous un passe-partout. Maintenant maintenue sans fixation sous un passe-partout. Le carton est légèrement marqué au verso. Francisque Poulbot (1879-1946) était un illustrateur, affichiste et dessinateur français réputé pour ses représentations des enfants des rues de Montmartre, connus sous le nom de « Poulbots », et pour son action humanitaire à Paris.

Poulbot takes a look at Parisienne street children and adults during World War I. Poulbot 1879-1946 was a French offichiste literally "poster designer" draughtsman and illustrator. Leaving to fight on the Front in 1914 he was sent back to Paris a year later. During the First World War his patriotic posters and postcards led to the Nazis putting him under house arrest during World War II. This book is a collection of his drawings of children and adults during World War I. The French term "poulbot" refers to illustrations representing Parisian "titis" or street children. Poulbot died in Paris on 16 September 1946 and was buried in Montemartre Cemetery. With an interesting note of the front endpaper: "John Hoar. Paris 1918. Due cartoline originali illustrate da Paulbot e annullo postale commemorativo dei 100 anni dalla nascita del celebre disegnatore. Francisque Poulbot (1879- 1946) è stato un affichiste francese (letteralmente "disegnatore di poster"), disegnatore e illustratore. Abile disegnatore, dopo il 1900, i suoi disegni iniziarono ad apparire sulla stampa. Si trasfer? a Montmartre dove, nel febbraio 1914, sposò Léona Ondernard, prima di partire per il Fronte. Durante la prima guerra mondiale, i suoi manifesti e cartoline patriottici lo portarono agli arresti domiciliari sotto l' occupazione tedesca della Francia durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Celebri le illustrazioni che rappresentano i " titis " parigini, i bambini di strada. Un esempio perfetto è un'illustrazione di Gavroche, il famoso personaggio del romanzo Les Misérables di Victor Hugo .
