The color etching has an old tape repair on the reverse of the upper margin not affecting either the image of the plate impression else these are in fine condition. Each etching is signed in pencil by Icart at the bottom right. Protected in a custom clamshell box.<br /> <p><br /> Icart created these illustrations foe a 1943 edition of Goethe's Faust published by Le Vasseur et Cie. The etchings were printed by French masterprinter Manuel Robbe. The 32 full page 1st and 2nd state proofs are printed in black. All prints protected by tissue guards. Loose folded sheets in wrappers with silver title. In publishers marbled chemise and slipcase. 23 text pages. Sheets measure 29 x 215 cm.
