All are covers for "Gil Blas" the popular French journal for which Steinlen produced a host of illustrations. All the issues were cut to remove the top portion noting the publisher and the lead title the latter cut and pasted below the illustration. One cover presents Steinlen's noted love and enthusiastic illustrations of cats. The issue title by Alphonse Allais journalist and humorist translates "Against Dogs." All the magazine covers matted to stiff dark green stock. Some of the covers have a hook at rear for hanging. Slight creasing to a few covers. A unique archive of Steinlen's efforts for Gil Blas.
