Associé à la firme Tubauto, il invente un style où le tube de métal s'intégre à l'intimité du logement, par la souplesse des lignes, la douceur des matières et la gaieté des couleurs. Cette monographie, réalisée à partir des archives conservées par sa famille, retrace le parcours de Jacques Hitier, avec des pages thématiques mettant en avant les temps forts de sa carrière, et des notices descriptives présentant ses oeuvres emblématiques.
