In december 2015 wordt immers het Art & Design Atomium Museum (ADAM) feestelijk geopend op de Heizelvlakte. Het werd ontworpen als museum voor design en kunst, en niet louter als museum van design stricto sensu. We zien hier inderdaad voorwerpen die we elke dag wel gebruiken maar waarvan we de formele kwaliteiten niet meer zien, stoelen die niet langer aan hun basisfunctie herinneren, provocerende of ongewone kunstwerken, ook foto's die raken of verrassen en architectuur die bewierookt of lange tijd ondergewaardeerd werd en meer dan de moeite waard is om nu te herontdekken. De prive-collectie, het Plasticarium, van Philippe Decelle, is uniek in de wereld en vormt de kern van de permanente tentoonstelling van het ADAM. Tientallen jaren lang verzamelde deze liefhebber kunststofmateriaal. De tentoonstelling bevat grote stukken, prototypes, ons welbekende alledaagse consumptievoorwerpen en ook meesterwerken van beroemde kunstenaars.
