Hardbound in black cloth boards titled yellow Armitage' endsheets and portraits on inserted stock his chapter heads in agressive colors all enclosed in a dust jacket of unmistakeable design. Book itself is very good quite sound and crisply square clean and unmarked within except for a former owners signature & initials on the busy front endsheet probably himself an artist the marks blend well with the Armitage flourishes. The dust jacket however while sufficiently sound to be a plus in an informative sense not a collectable is torn stained chipped and dust-soiled; it is protected from further damage by an archival-grade brodart to size. Scarce sample of wallpaper signed in the print by "Letizia Cerio" more often spelled "Laetitia" Capri-based artist renowned for her spare whimsical line drawings. Founded in the late nineteenth century German wallpaper firm Rasch won an international reputation through its collaborations with modernist designers from the Bauhaus and Vienna Secession. In the 1950s and 1960s owner Emil Rasch commissioned wallpaper designs from artists across Europe including Salvador Dalà and Bruno Munari for the International Artists Collection.
