Über 2 Meter langes, durchlaufendes Panorama mit der Darstellung des Begräbniszugs Napoleon Bonapartes, dessen sterbliche Überreste erst am 15. Dezember 1840 nach ihrer Überführung von St. Helena auf Betreiben des Bürgerkönigs Louis-Philippe im Invalidendom ihre letzte Ruhestätte fanden. Ausgehend vom 1806 auf Napoleons eigenen Befehl errichteten, jedoch erst 1836 fertiggestellten Arc de Triomphe ist hier der gesamte Trauerzug über die Champs-Elysées bis zum Invalidendom dargestellt. - Sehr selten.
Gestochene Kupferplatte (118:66 mm). Kupferplatte mit zwei Andachtsbildchen: das Minoritenwappen (ein bloßer und ein kuttentragender Arm mit Stigmata vor einem Kreuz, von einem Strick umkränzt) sowie der Hl. Franziskus, kniend und die Stigmata empfangend. Unter der letzteren Darstellung findet sich die Legende, die auf den schon 1221 begründeten Dritten Orden der Franziskaner hinweist.

Sehr hübsch ausgeführte aquarellierte Federzeichnung des Historismus, in der Art ihrer Darstellung den Turnierbüchern der maximilianischen Zeit nachempfunden; links oben vier Wappen, darunter möglicherweise die der Familien Montfort, Stauf von Ehrenfels, Gemmingen oder Schellenberg; rechts unten monogrammiert "H.W.M.". - Einige kleine Einrisse im rechten weißen Rand, stellenweise leicht fleckig und angestaubt, im ganzen jedoch sehr ordentliches Blatt in kräftigen Farben.
Drucktitel und 62 numerierte Radierungen (eine in späterem Abzug). Blauer Pappband der Zeit mit dem originalen Broschurtitel am Vorderdeckel aufgezogen. Folio (370 x 255 mm). Zur Illustration von "Georg Christoph Lichtenberg's Ausführlicher Erklärung der Hogarthischen Kupferstiche" schuf der Kupferstecher Carl Rahl als Radierung ausgeführte Reproduktionen der Blätter William Hogarths. Sie geben die originalen Graphiken in auf etwa die Hälfte reduzierter Größe wieder. außerhalb der Plattenränder. - Einband an den Rändern stärker lädiert; Titel stockfleckig, sonst im ganzen wohlerhalten. Die erste Radierung ("Herumstreifenden Komödiantinnen") in einem späteren Abzug lose beiliegend und an den Rändern lappig. ÖBL VIII, 390.

VERY RARE HORS COMMERCE LIMITED EDITION COPY with velvet Solander (clamshell) case. Trilingual Hebrew, English & French edition of the Torah illustrated by the eminent Jewish artist Abel Pann (born Abba Pfeffermann) (1883-1963), renowned for his paintings and lithographs on Biblical themes. Pann spent most of his adult life in Jerusalem and was a teacher at the Bezalel Academy from 1920 to 1924. In 1924 he resigned from his teaching position to devote himself full-time to lithography, writing that he was about to embark on his life's work: the painting and drawing of scenes from the Hebrew Bible. Pann began work on a series of lithographs intended to be published in an enormous illustrated Bible, and although that series was never completed, he is widely admired for the series of pastels inspired by Bible stories that he began in the 1940s. The Hebrew text is set in the Vilna font; the English translation is that of The Jewish Family Bible, which appeared in London in 1884; the French translation, prepared by the French Rabbinate, was first published in 1889. 340x335mm. 700 pages. Printed on 140GSM Rivoli rag paper, specially produced by Arjomari Paper Works in France for this publication.
