Mechanically reproduced typescript printed on rectos only of white blue green and goldenrod stock. Boltbound in Studio Duplicating Service binder. Binder a bit used at overlap edges ink name twice - see below some notes and drawings on blank verso of final leaf else very good. A "revised draft" of this adaptation but with additional colored dated revises inserted spanning the 6 weeks above. The 1979 release was directed by Jonathan Demme his first major commercial undertaking and the cast included Roy Scheider Janet Margolin John Glover Christopher Walken Mandy Patinkin and others. Dramatist and screenwriter David Shaber's adaptation of Bloom's 1977 novel was released just four months after THE WARRIORS stormed theatres which was based on his screenplay adaptation of Sol Yurick's novel. This copy bears the ownership signature and scattered annotations of Les Lazarowitz who was in the production sound crew. Small photos affixed with cello tape on thick stock in a folio "Lavis aquarelle" brand spiral bound notebook with maroon faux leather front wrapper. Each photo is numbered in holograph ink on the page and in mimeograph on the verso all credited to photographer Dole on the recto. The keybook illustrates a few film sequences most with a stoic Gabin in hat with several composed studio portraits of actress Nat. Included are four larger single photographs of Gabin doing a chair trick in a pub a sequence present in the keybook also credited to Dole on the recto. <br/><br/>Based on Lefevre's novel "Rue des Prairies" 1955. Gabin plays a POW who returns a widower and in charge of three children. His experiences during the war are relieve through heavy drinking but he has a warm side that proves beneficial. From the collection of still photographer Bob Willoughby. <br/><br/>Bob Willoughby 1927-2009 studied with Saul Bass at the Kann Institute of Art in Los Angeles worked as a photographer for magazines such as "Life" "Look" and "Harper's Bazaar" and as a set photographer for every major studio documenting some of most important films of the era and creating intimate portraits of some of Hollywood's greatest celebrities. <br/><br/>Willoughby moved his family to County Cork Ireland in 1972 working on only a handful of films through the late 1970s and early 1980s this was one of his final films though he would continue to photograph exhibit and publish books for the remainder of his life. <br/><br/>Based on Anne Piper's 1959 novel "Marry at Leisure" about Candida Ferris who goes to live with her relatives after the death of her father. Bored with life she leaves for Paris where she meets a young student and becomes pregnant but keeps the baby a secret from her family. Bored yet again with life she leaves for Italy where she meets an American and is soon pregnant again. As she leaves Italy a woman gives her baby to Candida at the train station. So with two babies and one on the way her life is unraveling quickly and her only confidant is Savage Andrews the caretaker of her late father. <br/><br/>Pink titled wrappers with a die-cut title window in the British style.
