This may correspond to the never realized project Selznick targeted for Fritz Lang and Ingrid Bergman that was promptly derailed by Bergman's lack of interest. Incomplete First Draft Shooting script for an unproduced film called "Daybreak" written for screen by Jay Dratler whose film credits include "Laura" 1944 "The Dark Corner" 1946 "Call Northside 777" 1948 "Pitfall" 1948 and "Impact" 1949. <br/><br/>Fritz Lang's only effort with Selznick also known as "Dawning." Intended for Ingrid Bergman the project was called off after four weeks of work supposedly because Bergman had decided to take on a different project. In truth there was also a fair bit of conflict between Lang and Selznick and the contract ultimately led to no produced work. <br/><br/>A story set on "Gray Island" just after WWII involving a rich art collector Stefan Korvath and his blind wife Nina and the roaming painter Chris Bartlett who falls in love Nina. <br/><br/>Salmon titled wrappers noted as 1st Draft Shooting Script and "incomplete" on the front wrapper dated 1/3/45 and 2/28/45 with a credit for screenwriter Dratler. 69 leaves with last page of text numbered 69. Two vintage studio still photographs from the 1972 film. <br/><br/>Based on the 1971 novel by Michael Crichton and his brother Douglas under the pseudonym "Michael Douglas" about a Harvard law student Lyons who is sent from Boston to San Francisco to smuggle a shipment of marijuana. He convinces the drug dealer Lithgow to have a girl Hershey he met in San Francisco bring another shipment so he can see her again. The girl gets busted but only for half of the shipment as the other half is taken by a corrupt cop Charles Durning. They attempt to steal back the stolen half but in doing so accidentally steal an additional $80000 in heroin. The ever-relevant John Lithgow made his film debut and Barbara Hershey confirms her status as an ideal 1970s "hippie chick."<br/>Set in WHERE shot on location in WHERE. <br/><br/>8 x 10 inches. Copy belonging to Guy Prescott who plays an uncredited role in the film as the assistant to Captain LaFarge played by Morris Ankrum with Prescott's holograph annotations at the inclusion of his dialogue and appearances.<br/><br/>George Sanders plays a wealthy hated businessman who has conned his way to the top and as the film begins has been found murdered. We see his life in a series of flashbacks as it is told to the police by his secretary and fellow con artist Yvonne DeCarlo. One of only two films in which Saunders and his real-life brother Tom Conway also play brothers onscreen. <br/><br/>Shot on location in New York City and California. <br/><br/>Tan titled wrappers noted as 2ND REVISION on the front wrapper copy No. 54 dated December 29 1955 with credits for producer Charles Martin. Lucienne Sotier with credits on the first page. Text in French.<br/><br/>Based on Daniel-Rops' 1934 eponymous novel. Laure Audret is a young woman nearly raped by a member of her family Terzieff but she meets Jean Auclair who takes her in to help his dying wife and his children. Daniel-Rops was a member of the French Academy wrote dozens of works from 1926 to 1965 and was an active Christian and scholar. Director Bromberger was active in French film noir during the late 1940s including his sole debut "Paris Vice Squad" 1951 nominated at Cannes and he made a few sexploitation films notably "Secrets of a French Nurse" 1958 and this film was his second-to-last as director before "A Night in Tiberias"1965. <br/><br/>Partially set in a castle in foggy France. <br/><br/>Blue untitled wrappers with vellum spine.
