Jules Parma, Giulio Tani, Kaiser Zha e Louis Sasson erano però tutti Cesare Zavattini, che oltretutto non si era mai mosso da Milano. Vicende privatissime, inconfessabili debolezze, relazioni perigliose, amori di una sera, atti generosi, carriere a rischio, insomma tutto quello che sul conto dei divi del cinema le agenzie di promozione oggi inventano e inviano alla stampa di tutto il mondo, fu già da allora inventato (“Inventavo tutto dalla A alla zeta, sposalizi di attori già sposati, incendi, furti, divorzi, liti, tutto inventato”) e raccontato con piccole e perfette sceneggiature e tratto deliziosamente pungente da colui che, con il suo talento multiforme, sarebbe diventato uno dei protagonisti degli anni a venire.
