An exceptionally well-preserved offering with crisp and clean extremities; excepting neat ink name to the upper-right margin of the ffep text-block remains equally without blemish and housed in its original price-clipped dustjacket showing a small spot of rubbing to the front panel now housed in protective mylar sleeve. A lovely offering of the second English translation of great Bengali polymath's first serious effort at a novel. <br/><br/>¶ Making its first appearance in serial form between 1902 and 1903 in the Bengali literary magazine Bangadarshan it would be published in book form later in the same year 1903. Rendered into English in 1914 at the hands of Surendranath Tagore this is the second English translation published in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi under the title "Bindoni" by Krishna Kripalani.
