A very good copy of STW's rare final poetry collection also with a flavour of witchcraft which opens: "When all the witches were haled to the stake and burned; When their least ashes were swept up and drowned King Duffus opened his eyes and looked round"; from the collection of British artist Phillida Gili daughter of Reynolds Stone and Janet Woods without inscription. As with many friends VA bequeathed Gili books from her library see items 15-17. King Duffus of Scotland 930-966; King of Alba 962-966 was the earliest recorded 'victim' of witchcraft: "A company of hags roasted his image made of wax upon a wooden spit reciting certain words of enchantment and basting the figure with a poisonous liquor." Sharpe 1884. As expected STW offers an alternative version of his reawakening.
