Warner records observations on landscape antiquities local history and architecture moving deliberately through places including Glastonbury Wookey Cheddar Ilfracombe Barnstaple Chudleigh Dawlish Exmoor Wells and Bath. Written in an antiquarian and observational style the work reflects the period’s growing interest in domestic travel and regional history. Illustrated with a frontispiece an additional plate and in-text illustrations throughout.<br /> <br /> Bound in 3/4 calf over marbled boards with five raised bands gilt rules and borders to the spine and a gilt title over a dark spine label. Illustrated with engraved plates and in-text illustrations.<br /> <br /> It is in Very Good condition. Heavy shelf wear with rubbed and bumped corners a one-inch split to the top of the front hinge minor foxing throughout and scattered pencil annotations in places.
