Bound volume containing the first nine issues of this publication including one double issue. There is a title page inserted with a Brentano's Inc. slug on it stating that there are 10 issues within but there is no indication that these issues are original issues and are not reprints. The text is in Russian with some captions in German and French and a few summary articles are in English. Beautifully lithographed covers with numerous tipped-in color plates portraits and black-and-white illustrations. Small bump to the top corner and the cloth of the rear hinge is torn but the inner hinge remains strong. The texts are clean and unmarked. This selection of journals is dated at a critical moment in the movement as Sanger continued combatting and defying Comstock Laws that banned the distribution of materials related to sexuality and reproduction in the U.S. Deaccessioned library copies. A sparse representation of one of the more individualistic little magazines of its generation first published in the Fall of 1959 and thereafter "whenever sufficient material has accumulated for an issue." WORMWOOD is "non-beat non-academic non- sewing circle and non-profit.and is not afraid of either intelligence or wit - both are rare qualities." Early issues were printed in editions of five hundred often numbered copies though in later years the editions were increased somewhat. Occasional issues were devoted to single authors or themes and many issues featured separate center sections on colored paper devoted to single authors. Contributors to these issues include J.
