Es gilt als eines der schönsten kalligraphierten Bücher der Zeit und ist mit einer Fülle komplizierter Ornamente kleinen allegorischen und Wappen-Darstellungen und Miniaturansichten geziert. Mitunter verbergen sich in den Liniengeschlingen konkrete Anspielungen auf den Inhalt des Gebets: sie haben Ähnlichkeit mit Engels- oder Fledermausflügeln oder bilden eine prächtige Krone; auch die Kopfvignetten spiegeln oft das Gebetsthema wieder. - In einem hübschen grünen Lederband der Zeit mit reicher Goldprägung. Vorderdeckel mit vergoldeten Initialen "M.A.T." - Dieses Exemplar ohne das Imprimatur und die beiden Widmungsblätter Kaukols für den Kurfürsten die nur in der dem Kurfürsten vorbehaltenen Teilauflage enthalten waren. - Vorn eingeheftet zwei bedruckte 3 bzw. 4 x 6 cm große Blättchen: eine mit der Bestätigung "Examinado de doctrina cristiana" der Pfarrkirche San Gines in Madrid von 1825; ein weiterer mit dem handschriftlichen Namen Manuela Villalba der ihr bestätigt in der o.g. Title of 'Private Devotions' dated 1764 but with continuous pagination. Crisp copy of one of the leading Anglican devotional works of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
