191936425Gloversville NY: September 10 and October 8 1919. 1919. Very good. - Two typed letters each filling most of a sheet of 11 inch high by 8-1 /2 inch wide New Jewish Chronicle letterhead with a decorative heading in black. Both letters are signed "Joseph Jasin". In the September letter a red ink decorative arrow draws attention to 1 paragraph. There is some soiling to the bottom edge of the October letter as well as a pencil note and a "date answered" stamp. Folded three times for mailing. Very good
Following an interview with the Pond Lyceum Bureau in New York City Jasin writes to the bureau about his interest in giving his lecture "Modern Myths and Miracles". In October he follows up with a second letter both times emphasizing that the materials he left with the staff should be returned to him.
Joseph Jasin 1883-1968 a native of Poland and an early Zionist arrived at a young age as a newly ordained rabbi at the Reform Jewish Congregation Beth-El formed in 1902 in Fort Worth Texas. He reinvigorated the religious school and doubled the membership of the congregation. He remained in Fort Worth until 1908 when he was drafted to New York as secretary of the Federation of American Zionists the forerunner of the Zionist Organization of America. At that time Zionism seemed like an impossible dream and Jasin and fellow Reform Zionists found themselves denounced by all but a very few American Reform rabbis and by Orthodox and Conservative Zionists as a turncoat for following Reform. Later in life Jasin went on to a pulpit in Pasadena California where he established a prison chaplaincy and developed an interest in parapsychology. He remained an organizer editor and innovator throughout his career. Gloversville, NY: September 10 and October 8, 1919. unknown

First published in 1857. The author of this report and a minority of one was James Johnston Pettigrew 1828-1863. 1820072306Albany NY: J. Buel 1820. Hardcover. Very Good with no dust jacket. Reprinted by the State's appointed printer; each year is paginated individually and begins with an index of vote outcomes. Some toning evident in margins and whatever pattern was originally given the page block edges has worn to an uneven brown; the front endpaper has split along the hinge and there is some residue of a bookplate on the pastedown; the binding remains secure though with a short tear in the legal-yellow cloth along the left front two shallow depressions at the front foreedge wear to the cloth at free and bound corners and noticeable handling prints; decoration at the spine including the red and black leather labels for title and year shows concurrent wear including chipping of leather and flaking of the gilt borders on the leather; nonetheless designed to be sturdy and to maintain its dignity on the shelf in which endeavor it continues to succeed. 932pp A well-kept reprint of the climactic volume in the golden age "Colony of New York" series that preceded the popular multiverse crossover "Constitutional Convention" starring John A. Hancock and Benjamin Franklin Sr. Spoiler alert The letter at the end of March 1776 alludes to events in Boston and taxation problems but later popularizations left out the anger at British welcome of "popery" in Quebec the decline of the three-branch government and the action-packed amendment scenes in which representatives competed to restate portions of the bill with more negative superlatives.; Tall 4to. Meclis-i Mebûsân Birinci devre 1325-1326 içtimai. 326 senesi muâzene-i umûmîsi hakkinda . kaleme alinan esbâb-i mûcibe mazbata-yi umûmîsi. Meclis-i Mebûsân The Chamber of Deputies of the Ottoman Empire was the lower house of the General Assembly the Ottoman Parliament. Unlike to the upper house the Senate the members of the Chamber of Deputies were elected by the general Ottoman populace although suffrage was limited to males of a certain financial standing among other restrictions that varied over the Chamber's lifetime. The Second Constitutional Era of the Ottoman Empire began shortly after Abdul Hamid II was forced to restore the constitutional monarchy after the 1908 Young Turk Revolution. The period established many political groups and parties. Ahmet Riza became the first President of the Chamber in 1908. An amendment in 1909 to the original 1876 constitution resulted in the Chamber gaining more true political power at the expense of the non-democratically elected Senate and the Sultan. A series of elections during this period resulted in the gradual ascendance of the Committee of Union and Progress's CUP domination in politics. The second largest party Liberal Unionist Party LU Turkish: Hürriyet ve Itilâf was in fact a coalition of parties led by Prince Sabahaddin. This is a rare protocol register book of Meclis-i Mebûsân.
